Thanks Michael, you chronicled our march to astronomical prices in such an entertaining way that I was chuckling and groaning at the same time. And, BTW, kudos to Eric Fischer — truly a man on a mission. My grandmother lived in a rented flat in the Richmond district of SF for 50 years. She was a seamstress. If she were living in today’s SF, she would undoubtedly have to moves to the Central Valley or to somewhere in the Midwest where she could afford to live on her modest income. I am not sure what the solution is — the price escalations have been going on for decades as Eric shows and yet as you point out, SF still a fantastic place to live. Sometimes its beauty just takes my breath away.
